To study BSc in Behavioural Science
The Department of Psychology is the host department for the Bachelor of Science programme in Behavioural Science. The programme is only held in Swedish.
The programme is interdisciplinary and rests on a collaboration between the Department of Sociology and the Department of Psychology. Behavioural science studies how psychological, cultural, societal and biological factors interact to form human behaviours. The programme has a broad theoretical basis in the three behavioural science subjects of education, psychology and sociology, with the opportunity to specialise in one of these subjects. Students on the programme can combine courses to suit their precise interests.
The programme runs over three years and leads to a Bachelor’s degree in one of the following subjects as main field of study:
It qualifies the graduate for further studies at the Master’s level within the relevant main field.
The programme includes several practical components constructed so as to adapt the studies to the requirements of the labour market and to enable you to find and develop your areas of interest. Students study project management and implement several minor projects, as well as having the chance to do an internship or study abroad for a semester.
Within the programme, the students develop generic skills, such as working in teams and learning tools for investigation and evaluation, but they can also specialise in specific areas on the basis of their own interests in the field of behavioural science.
This offers students good opportunities to get work that they enjoy; behavioural science graduates can be found in sectors such as:
- human resources management
- organisational development
- social work
- PR and communication
- nursing and therapy
- research and education.
