The network for research on Sexuality, Norms and Psychology (SNAP)
The network for research on Sexuality, Norms and Psychology (SNAP) was started in the spring of 2022 with the aim of strengthening sexuality research at the Department of Psychology at Lund University. By extension, our research and knowledge can play a role for all people in both personal life and professional practice.
The aim of the network is to identify and gather researchers with an interest in sexological perspectives and research in sexology. In addition, the network wants to strengthen sexuality research at the department and create contact areas for co-operation with other disciplines and other universities regionally, nationally and internationally.
Currently, international and national research on sexual and aesthetic norms and their relationship to sexual well-being and the moderating effect of psychological factors on that relationship is conducted in collaboration with researchers in Spain.
Furthermore, research on LGBTQI people's lived experience of vulnerability, minority stress and coping is conducted in the national research group Queer Psychology in Sweden (QueerPsy).
Tove Lundberg is also part of the international project SENS, which focuses on variations in sex characteristics/intersex.
In addition to the above research, the network has collaborations with researchers at Örebro University on sexuality and pain, with researchers at the Faculty of Medicine at Lund University, with researchers at Malmö University on BDSM and with the University of Gävle on the sexual health of cancer survivors.
