The Psychology of Ecological and Dynamic Systems

Course information

The course The Psychology of Ecological and Dynamic Systems, 7,5 credits, is offered as a third-cycle optional, methodological course at the Department of Psychology, Lund University.

Course information

The course introduces theoretical principles and empirical work based on the theories of Ecological Psychology and Dynamic Systems Theory. The course is intended to apply the philosophical backgrounding of these theories to reconceptualize participants’ current research area. Participants will receive suggested readings depending on their field and are encouraged to independently explore the research literature further. The course requires critical assessment of current conceptual definitions, redefinition from alternative theoretical frameworks, and evaluation of the consequences that this has for theory, research, and practice.

The course consists of lectures, seminars, and presentations. Most seminars and all presentations are led by course participants.

The course starts on the 30th of October, 2023 and ends on the 14th of January 2024. It is open to students enrolled in a doctoral program at other departments and universities as far as space allows.

Applications, name and affiliation, should be sent via e-mail to Åse Innes-Ker (ase [dot] innes-ker [at] psy [dot] lu [dot] se (ase[dot]innes-ker[at]psy[dot]lu[dot]se)) no later than 23:59 on the 1th  of October 2023.
