Sverker Sikström and Jesper Roine: "Mismatch in Fairness Ratings Between Assumptions and Outcomes of Wealth Distributions"
Public cognition and neuro seminar with Sverker Sikström and Jesper Roine.
How wealth accumulates following investments is fundamental to how our society works and it relies on our understanding of what is fair. We show a fairness paradox, where people view the assumption of wealth accumulation as fair, but the outcome from these assumptions as completely unfair. This suggests that people lack an understanding of how wealth accumulation works, and that they are lured into accepting unfair outcomes based on premises they view as fair, but do not understand the consequences of.
