Moral Disengagement in Psychiatric Inpatient Care

In a recently accepted paper in Frontiers, Jonas Bjärehed argues that Bandura's theory of moral disengagement may provide a useful framework for understanding challenging patient situations that can arise in psychiatric inpatient care. In this seminar, he will briefly present the paper and its theoretical background, and discuss how moral disengagement theory may help illuminate difficult interactions and escalating dynamics in clinical settings.

Unless otherwise indicated, seminars will be conducted in English. Participation via Teams is usually possible upon request and advance registration.

The seminars provide an opportunity to learn more about ongoing research and current topics within clinical psychology, while also creating space for discussion and exchange of ideas across the division. The seminars are open to staff, students, PhD candidates, and other interested colleagues, and we warmly encourage participation from across the department and beyond.
