Clinical research in pediatric settings. – Kajsa Järvholm
The Developmental Psychology Division seminars
A large proportion of research involving children and adolescents is conducted in pediatric and other medical settings. While this research is essential for advancing diagnosis and treatment, the conditions being studied, as well as the interventions themselves, may also have significant implications for young people's psychosocial development. Despite this, psychologists are rarely integrated into pediatric research teams, and important developmental and psychosocial aspects risk being underexplored. The presentation focuses on how developmentally informed psychological research can be integrated into pediatric contexts to complement medical perspectives.
