Abstract:
Binge-eating disorder (BED) is a prevalent eating disorder characterized by recurrent binge-eating episodes, marked levels of distress, and lack of regular weight-related compensatory behaviors. BED is strongly associated with broader psychological impairment, cardiometabolic conditions, and obesity. Despite the significant morbidity associated with BED, this psychiatric condition is often undetected and untreated. Please join us to learn about BED, including assessment methods to identify BED and empirically-supported treatments.
