Elia Psouni (project PI) is a licensed psychologist, associate professor of Developmental Psychology, and Director of the Developmental Psychology-division at Lund University. The focus of Elia Pssouni’s research is on attachment development, family relationships and child mental health. She has extensive expertise in child development, the family as a system and the impact of the child’s close relations when growing up. 

Kerstin Neander is a licensed social worker and PhD at Örebro University. Her research interests concern parent-child interaction interventions and early childhood intervention. Kerstin Neander has expertise in co-produced, participatory research and on the Social Services’ work with children exposed to physical abuse.

Amanda Angelöw is a doctoral student in the project. In addition to the Lic. Psychologist program, she has a bachelor’s degree in Human Rights Studies. Amanda Angelöw has expertise in children’s rights and implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, and has worked for Save the Children, training foster parents and teachers, and working on-site with asylum-seeking children. 

Hussein Hamad is a doctoral student in the project. He is a licensed teacher with a Master degree in Psychology and previous studies in Sociology and history of literature. Hussein Hamad has experience working with children from broad cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds and has previously worked as family counselor and coordinator for supportive treatment of children placed in out-of-home-care. 

Collaborators 

Pernilla Rempe Sjöstedt is a licensed psychologist and director of the Save the Children Sweden Welfare training unit. She has previously worked at Save the Children’s treatment center, in child psychiatry (BUP), in occupational health care and with organizational development.
