Developmental psychology
The research activity is high, the research area is broad and many projects are multi-disciplinary. Development is studied in a lifespan perspective.
The division has a strong tradition of follow-up and intervention studies of medical high-risk infants in collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine at Lund University as well as at other universities, especially with the divisions of:
- gynaecology
- neonatology
- cardiology
- clinical electrophysiology
Also the Faculty of Odontology and the National Board of Health and Welfare in Sweden.
Another important field of research within the division is development of social competence.
Finally, studies of parenthood gather many members of the division. Parenting is studied in relation to gender, prematurity, and attachment. Ongoing research on parenting and caregiving using attachment theory is done in collaboration with other universities and the Faculty of Medicine in Lund.
