About the department
There are about 110 persons on the regular staff at the department. A network of national and international contacts with researchers and practioners provides a basis for communication with the world at large.
The most extensive course of studies offered is the Master’s Programme in Professional Psychology, a five-year programme. The department offers 30 single subject courses each year at basic and advanced levels. The PhD programme comprises a total of 240 Swedish credits (the equivalent of 4 years of full-time studies). The department has a dozen PhD students
Research at the Department of Psychology is organised into six divisions and five networks.
Considerable attention is given to finding ways to facilitate communication between education, research and practice. Each of the four separate educational programmes has its own director of studies and administraton. The divisions are concerned not only with research but also with providing courses within their specialities.
A continous programme for quality management and certification is implemented in the entire programme, as well as in the rest of the department. Our teachers have often been praised for their teaching skills.
